Young Scientists - Mini Proposal

During the SFB 754 summer school, the SFB 754 speaker announced a call for mini-proposals. Guidelines for the mini-proposals were that young scientists of at least two different subprojects could apply (at least one PhD candidate should participate per proposal). Requirements for the mini-proposals were that the research idea should be unique, interdisciplinary and focussing on the SFB 754 research. A limit on funding that could be applied for was not set, as the focus should be on the research question and not limited by finances. Proposals were evaluated by the board that granted funds for following proposals:

PHASE 3:

  • Diapycnal mixing and bio-geochemical coupling across submesoscale fronts off Mauritania
    Sören Thomasen (B9) and Daniel Witt (collaborator, NCAR, Colorado, USA)

  • Quantifying the ‘Fe-brake’ to biological nitrogen consumption within the Peruvian OMZ.
